Why We Started Cybercentric

After leading a national data loss prevention program and building out SOC operations for a large organization, I saw a consistent pattern: companies were either under-protected, over-sold, or stuck with solutions they couldn’t operationalize. Security vendors often promised clarity – but delivered complexity.

I started Cybercentric to do things differently.
No buzzwords. No black boxes. Just practical, expert-driven security built around the realities of business.

Together with my co-founder, who brings deep experience in risk and compliance strategy, we created a firm that offers elite-level cybersecurity without the red tape or bloat. Our mission is simple: help organizations protect what matters with clarity, speed, and accountability.

Adam Burns, Co-Founder

Adam brings over a decade of hands-on cybersecurity experience, with a specialty in building and operating large-scale security operations centers (SOCs), managed detection and response (MDR) programs, and enterprise data loss prevention (DLP) programs. Prior to founding Cybercentric, he led national MDR and DLP initiatives for multiple large organizations, where he architected policy frameworks, deployed technology stacks, and managed teams responsible for defending sensitive data around the clock. His ability to translate business objectives into scalable security programs set him apart in the field – and exposed him to the limitations many companies face when working with traditional vendors.

Driven by a belief that growing businesses deserve access to real-world expertise – not just canned assessments or bloated toolsets – Adam launched Cybercentric with a clear mission: deliver elite-level cybersecurity services without the complexity. He focuses on bridging technical execution with strategic business alignment, ensuring clients receive not only effective defenses, but the clarity to act on them. Adam’s direct, no-fluff approach to security has made him a trusted advisor to executive teams across multiple industries.

At Cybercentric, Adam leads technical service delivery and threat operations, helping clients navigate everything from proactive risk assessments to real-time incident response. He also mentors the next generation of analysts and engineers to uphold Cybercentric’s core value: security that actually works.

Mostafa Elbery, Co-Founder

Mostafa brings deep expertise in cybersecurity risk management, regulatory compliance, and strategic security consulting. With a background spanning multiple industries – including healthcare, finance, and SaaS – he’s worked closely with executive teams to help them understand and prioritize risk, build security programs aligned to business goals, and meet the demands of evolving frameworks like HIPAA, NIST, and CMMC. His work bridges the gap between governance and execution, helping organizations achieve security maturity without unnecessary overhead.

Before co-founding Cybercentric, Mostafa served as a senior risk and compliance strategist for a regional consulting firm, where he led dozens of client engagements ranging from readiness assessments to full program rollouts. He became known for simplifying complex requirements and translating them into practical, scalable controls – especially for teams with limited internal resources.

At Cybercentric, he leads the firm’s risk, compliance, and advisory services. His approach is rooted in partnership and precision: helping clients cut through noise, understand their true risk exposure, and build long-term resilience in a way that actually sticks. Clients rely on him not just for regulatory checklists, but for clarity, structure, and a trusted voice in the boardroom.
